Rapture book review

Rapture is the last installment in Lauren Kate's 'Fallen' series. It contains spoilers, so do not read if you plan to read the series!

Synopsis: The sky is dark with wings . . . .Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen. For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters. In the fight for Luce, who will win?

So, i had been waiting out for this book and was SO excited, but really, didn't love it. I was expecting this insane ending, that had me pulling my hair out, waiting to find out all the answers and twists placed throughout the story. But in all honestly, it was just boring. Don't get me wrong, Lauren Kate is an amazing author and i commend her for her work...but this book just didn't have much too it. The first chapters didn't pull me in, it was only up until the end did the story really pick up. The plot didn't really go anywhere, no twists or turns throughout the story, it was all just a drag. And really slow paced. I felt as though for a whole chapter, we would be reading about the feeling Luce got from flying with Daniel. I felt like i could have skipped all the middle chapters of the book, and i still would have known what was going on.

SPOILERS! DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE BOOK SPOILED!

The one thing that really frustrated me most, was the ending! I was expecting this epic battle seen, angels fighting to save the world, all that stuff. But all i really got from that, was a friendly chat involving the words of 'let go'. I don't think this super bad guy would just agree and stop his plans for world domination or whatever. So i cannot comprehend how it came to that in this book. And then the ending, ending... i was like ARE YOU SERIOUS! It was just pretty...lame? I don't know, it all just seemed pretty unoriginal and safe to me.I was surprised by the answer to the question of who was Luce's first love though. I did not see that coming! AND CAM! He just flew away, i was like no come back! Cam made the series for me, he was the reason i enjoyed the first books so much. He should have had a better ending.

Although i didn't really enjoy this book, i still think that Lauren Kate is a great writer! I loved the cover of this book, as the Fallen series is worthy of developing amazing covers! I will be honest, the only reason i finished this book was because i really was interested in the conclusion. I will say, that i did really enjoy the fact that Luce gained her memories, i thought that was fun.
